ABOUT COLLEGE

Government Degree College, Kukat Palli, a sterling landmark of higher education in the district of Medchal is established in the year 2008 by the government of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh with the prime motive of ensuring quality education within the reach of poor and down trodden rural and urban students hailing from all the corners of the state.

The college has been inculcating the most pragmatic and idealistic education to more than one thousand one hundred students In the wide spectrum of Science, Arts and Commerce, taught in English and Telugu media. The college grew by leaps and bounds in the initial stage and successfully completed the journey of ten years with many under graduate and certificate programmes. The collective vigor of these programmes has been applied for NIRF ranking in November 2018 to re calibrate its strengths and to go ahead with more holistic approaches.

The Historic backdrop of the College:

Kukat Palli being the Asia’s largest township falls very much in the urban arcades of Hyderabad city though it was formally a part of erstwhile Ranga Reddy District. It was not blessed with any government degree college for many decades despite the huge potential and need. For that matter, the entire urban portion of old Ranga Reddy District had no government degree college. It was the year 2008 that brought the aspirations of the local stakeholders to the cognizance of government, which then, sanctioned five government degree colleges to the erstwhile District of Ranga Reddy. That’s how the Government Degree College has chartered its journey and striving to meet the demands of students and other stakeholders.
